RPSC Probation And Prison Welfare Officer Exam Pattern & Syllabus

Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) will conduct a Written exam for recruitment of Probation and Prison Welfare Officer.

Exam Pattern : Exam Pattern for the Probation and Prison Welfare Officer written Exam is as Follows :-

► Written Exam will be Multiple Choice Objective Type.
► The Question Paper consists of 100 Questions and 100 marks.
► There will also be negative marking for every wrong answer.
► The Duration of Test is 02 (Two) Hours (120Minutes).

Sociology : Meaning, Nature of Sociology, Relationship of Sociology with other Social Sciences – Political Science, History, Psychology, Economics.

Basic Concept : Society, Community, Groups, Institution, Social Norms and Values, Status and Role, Socialization.

Social Control and Social Change : Meaning, Agencies and types of Social Control, Recent changes in Family, Marriage and Caste. Impact of Recent Social Legislations on Marriage, Family and Caste.

Major Social Problems : Meaning of Social Problem, Corruption, Castism, Communalism, Terrorism, Drug Addiction, Alcoholism, Prostitution, Poverty and Unemployment.

Social Work : Concept of Social Work and its Agencies, Welfare of Women and Children in Rajasthan, Government and Non-Government agencies.

Crime : Meaning of Crime, Legal and Sociological, Causes of Crime
Juvenile Delinquency : Meaning and Causes, Women Criminals and Crime against Women.

Punishment : Meaning and objectives of Punishment, Capital Punishment.

Prison System : Evolution of Prison System in India, Prison Reforms, Prisoner Welfare, After Care Programmes, Model Jails and Open Prisons, Rehabilitation.

Probation and Parole : Concept of Probation and Parole, Role of Probation Officers, Probation of Offenders Act.

Correctional Institutions and Legislations : Role of Police and Judiciary, Children Homes, Remand Homes, Borstal Institutions, Juvenile Justice Act.
