RPSC Dist. Probation cum Social Welfare Officer Exam Pattern & Syllabus

Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) will conduct a Written exam for recruitment of Dist. Probation cum Social Welfare Officer.
Exam Pattern : Exam Pattern for Dist. Probation cum Social Welfare Officer written Exam is as Follows :-

► Written Exam will be Multiple Choice Objective Type.
► The Question Paper consists of 100 Questions and 100 marks.
► There will also be negative marking for every wrong answer.
► The Duration of Test is 02 (Two) Hours (120Minutes).
Exam Syllabus : Exam Syllabus for Dist. Probation cum Social Welfare Officer written Exam is given below :-
Basic Concepts : Society, Culture, Community, Social Groups, Associations, Institutions, Social Norms & Values, Social Process and socialization.
Social Change : Meaning, Process of change in Indian Society – Sanskritisation, Westernization, Modernization, Urbanization and Globalization.
Major Social Problems : Poverty, Illiteracy, Unemployment, Corruption, Challenges to National Integration (Castes, Communalism, Terrorism, Regionalism), Population explosion, Child Labour, Drug Addiction, Prostitution, Problems of weaker Sections and Minorities, Crime against women.
Social Disorganization : Meaning and Types, Crime and Juvenile Delinquency – Meaning, Causes and Types).
Punishment : Meaning, Forms and Theories of Punishment.
Prison System and Social Legislations : Jails in Rajasthan– Model Jails, Alternatives to imprisonment- Open Prison, Probation and Parole, Duties of Probation Officer, Probation of offenders Act, 1958, Juvenile Justice Act, 1986, Immoral Traffic Prevention Act, 1986, Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988.
Correctional and Administration Institutions : Children Homes, Certified Schools, Remand Homes, Borstal Institutions, Observation Homes and Juvenile Courts.
After Care Services & Social Work : Rehabilitation in Society – Agencies of Social Welfare (Governmental and Non-Governmental NGOs), Welfare of Women and Children in Rajasthan, Concept of Social Work and its agencies.
Criminal Procedure Code : Definition, Arrest of Person (Ch.V); Procedure as to Bail and Bonds (Ch.33); Process to Compel the Production of things (Ch.VII); Probation.
Indian Evidence Act : Definition, Admission and confession, statement of person who can not be called as witness; opinion of third person when relevant. Proof of documentary evidence, Production and effect of evidence; Examination of witnesses; Leading question.
Indian Penal Code : General Exception; Giving false Evidence; Fabrication of False Evidence, Offences against Body and Property, Doctrine of Mens-rea, stages of Crime Intention, Motive, Preparation and attempt.
Indian Constitution : Constitutional Protection under Article 21, Double Jeopardy Article, 14.
