Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) will conduct a Written exam for recruitment of Exploration and Excavation Officer in Archaeology and Museum Department.
Exam Pattern : Exam Pattern for the Exploration and Excavation Officer written Exam is as Follows :-
► Written Exam will be Multiple Choice Objective Type.
► The Question Paper consists of 100 Questions and 100 marks.
► There will also be negative marking for every wrong answer.
► The Duration of Test is 02 (Two) Hours (120Minutes).

Exam Syllabus : Exam Syllabus for Exploration and Excavation Officer written Exam is given below :-
Unit – I
Principles and Techniques of exploration and excavation. Traditional & Scientific approach. Types of excavations. Techniques of exploration, Dating (Absolute & Relative).
Unit – II
Prehistory Stone Age Cultures (Paleolithic, Mesolithic, Neolithic). Important sites – Tool types and Techniques. Material of stone age tools, Rock Art.
Unit – III
Proto history Copper & Bronze Age Cultures – Harappan, Post Harappan Chalcolithic cultures – Ganeshwar, Ahar, Malwa, Painted Grey ware Culture, Megalithic culture.
Unit – IV
Early Historical Archaeology Northern Black Polished ware and associated cultures – Maurya, Shunga, Kushana, Gupta & Post Gupta cultures upto 1200 A.D.
Unit – V
Culture of Rajasthan Didwana – Sambhar, Bagor, Bairath, Rairh, Nagari, Early temple architecture & Sculpture.
